Ваше здоров’я. Конспект уроку


7 клас
Тема: Ваше здоров’я. Практика в усному мовленні та читанні

Цілі: вивчити нові лексичні одиниці теми;
вдосконалювати навички читання;
формувати комунікативні компетенції учнів  з опорою на лексико-граматичні структури;
розвивати мовну здогадку й мовленнєву реакцію учнів;
виховувати  позитивне ставлення до здорового способу життя.
Очікувані результати:
Учні мають: вживати  в мовленні вивчену лексику, розуміти прочитаний текст, давати відповіді на  запитання.
Procedure
І. Організаційна частина уроку.
1.Warm-up. T.: - Good morning, children. How are you? How do you feel?
(Учні відповідають по черзі).
T.: It’s nice to see you in good health today. Let’s say something good to each other. Turn to your partner and wish him or her something good. May I start?
      I wish you to be active at the lesson and get a good mark.

     1.  At first let’s revise the parts of the body and the words which are connected with
them. (You may use pictures or dolls.)
          Lungs, chest (груди, грудна клітка), throat, heart, ear, eye, head, ankle ['æŋkl] (кісточка, щиколотка), tooth-teeth, blood [blʌd] (кров), pulse, arm,
hand, leg, foot, neck, back, stomach ['stʌmək] (шлунок; живіт), nose, blood pressure

2. Vocabulary practice.   Do ex. 1, p. 108.
        Using the pictures learn the names of health problems.
A cold, flu, cough, toothache, earache, headache, backache, appendix, blood
pressure, temperature, sneeze, fever, runny nose.
• The boy has a cold.
3.  People in the medical profession. What do these people do? Match the words and
their definitions.
1) a surgeon                                     a) looks after children and treats their illnesses
2) cardiologist                                 b) is trained to prepare drugs and medicines
                                                                and works in a shop or in a hospital
3) a dentist                                       c) examines and treats people’s eyes
4) a pediatrician                               d) looks after patients in hospital

   4. Pair work. Miming game
The students choose any picture (they are upside down) and answer one by one the
teacher’s question “What’s the matter with you?”
— What’s the matter?
                — I’ve got a headache.
— What are you going to do?
              — I’m going to see a dentist.
5. Speaking.   Do ex. 2, p. 108.
6. Speaking. Practise the new words in the dialogue.

Ideas for substitution:

Doctor. What’s the matter with you?
Nick. I’ve got a terrible headache and a sore throat.
Mother: He’s also got a high temperature, I think.
Doctor. Well, let’s listen to your breath and examine your throat. Oh. it’s really red.
Nick. I’m sneezing and coughing all the time.
Doctor. Don’t worry. I’ll prescribe you some medicine and you’ll be better in several
days.
Mother: Should he stay in bed?
Doctor. Yes, sure. I think 3 days will be enough. Also give him warm milk with butter
and honey.
Mother: OK. I see.
Nick. I hate milk and honey.

8. Summary. Do ex. 3, p. 109.

9. Homework.
Read the text and write out and translate the words and expressions which you’ve
learnt at this lesson.
There is nothing more important than health. “Health is above wealth”, wise people
say, because you can’t be good at your studies or work well if you don’t take care of
your health.
If you complain of a sore throat or a bad cough, if you run a high temperature and
have a bad cold, if you have a headache, heart disease, toothache, backache, earache
or a bad pain in the stomach, if you suffer from a high or low blood pressure, you should
consult a doctor.
The doctor will take your temperature, examine you, feel your pulse, test your blood
pressure, sound your heart and lungs and have your chest X-rayed if necessary. After
that he will prescribe you some treatment (pills, tablets, mixtures or some other
medicine) which you can buy at the chemist’s. In order to avoid complications he will
recommend you to stay in bed for some days. If you want to recover soon, you have to
follow the doctor’s instructions.
